Friendsgiving Featuring Art in a Box and Cocktails

Itinerary in partnership with Faros, your social life concierge. Try a free month of Faros.

Thanksgiving is coming up in just a couple of weeks, which means it’s time to plan your Friendsgiving! That’s right, we are not letting Friendsgiving get cancelled this year. We’ve partnered with Faros, your personal social life concierge, to create a series of itineraries to help you incorporate arts and culture in a social and fun way throughout the holiday season.

This itinerary - featuring an autumnal-themed art activity and cocktails - can be done socially distanced in a park, indoors with your pod (no more than 10 people!), or over Zoom. We really have you covered, no matter your situation.

Start this itinerary creating a special cocktail, The NoMad Hotels Mott & Mulberry (a Faros favorite!) or The American Trilogy, invented fairly recently as a collaboration between the mixologists of Little Branch (one of the city’s OG speakeasy/mixology bars). The ingredients and instructions are below for you to make them at home (or take to go if you’re heading to the park). Hot apple cider is a great alternative if you’re not looking to drink alcohol or are doing this activity with the kiddos!

With a cocktail (or hot apple cider) in hand, get started on your ArtsClub Studio Box Set, a super fun way to get creative with your chosen family. Each box comes with a video lesson (to provide historical context and inspiration) and all of the art materials you need to create your own masterpiece. The Yayoi Kusama themed set includes mini-pumpkins, making it the perfect activity for a Friendsgiving. Best part, your artwork can double as a centerpiece when you’re done! Yayoi Kusama’s sculptures, paintings, and installations - which are characterized by polka dots, organic forms, and optical illusions - have made her one of the world’s most widely recognized and commercially successful living artists. Materials come for either two or four participants to each create two paintings and two pumpkin “sculptures” using fake mini pumpkins so you can keep as a fall decoration for years to come!
