Asia Society Triennial on the UES

The Asia Society Museum is currently showing Part 1 of its Triennial, "Asia Society Triennial: We Do Not Dream Alone," which will run through February 7, 2021 and continue with a second installment from March 16 through June 27, 2021. The inaugural triennial takes place at venues throughout New York City, including the Asia Society Museum, David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, the Park Avenue Malls at East 70th Street, and Times Square Arts.

This itinerary highlights a visit to the Asia Society Museum on 725 Park Avenue. The featured contemporary artists originate from around the globe and address a wide range of subjects with traditional and unconventional materials. Some artists were commissioned to create new works for this exhibition while others, such as Shahzia Sikander, include pre-existing works. Sikander's piece features a breakout miniature scroll, completed in 1989 when she was a student of this traditional practice, placed next to a recent work on paper. This juxtaposition demonstrates the artist's developments over a thirty year period.

After the museum, take a short walk up Park Avenue and over to Lexington Avenue where you can dine on French cuisine and indulge in a glass of wine at Orsay Restaurant in a comfy setting offering an array of indoor and outdoor seating available.
